Jan,

Greetings from Iowa City! While we are disappointed we were not able to host the Healy Award Luncheon this spring, we are delighted to introduce you to the two recipients of this year’s Alfred Healy Leadership Award in Developmental Disabilities.  Although you can’t meet them in person, we think this video will show you that Mary Ball and Cassandra Olmstead share Dr. Healy’s unwavering commitment to improving the system of care that supports individuals with disabilities and their families.

The Healy Award Selection Committee recognized the importance of Cassandra’s work in better understanding the perceptions of professionals, and the importance of Mary’s work exploring the use of assistive technology.  We know these women will build on Dr. Healy’s legacy through their contributions to the field, and we hope you enjoy hearing from Mary and Cassandra what receiving the Healy Award means to each.

Best,

Liz, Derrick and Dianne
